DL art shelves

A development of our work for Allied Editions, adapted to become a freestanding bookshelf and framed work display unit for a photographic print collector. The shelves were built from hand painted oak veneered ply and assembled in situ. An angled rebate in the front edge of the shelves enables picture frames to lean at a consistent angle against the shallower shelf above. This also enables frames to be arranged overlapping one another creating a denser and more playful ‘hang’.

The idea enables works to be placed and reconfigured easily without the need for drilling fixings into the walls of the house (or the subsequent filling and redecoration).
